About BrushtekA painting crew that builders keep calling back.
Brushtek is run by Kirk out of Independence, Minnesota, on the Hwy 12 corridor west of the cities. The work is house painting: interiors, exteriors, cabinets, trim and built-ins, for homeowners across the west metro and Central Minnesota, and finish painting for custom builders who need a new house to look finished on the day the family walks in.
That second kind of work is why so many of our photos are of brand-new rooms. A builder does not call a painter twice because the price was low. They call back because the trim lines were straight, the cabinet doors came back without a run, and the crew was out of the way when the flooring guys arrived.

How we workFour things you can hold us to.
Painting is not complicated. Doing it the same way every time, on a schedule, in someone's house, is the whole trick.
- 1
Ask for photos first
A few phone photos and a sentence about what you want are usually enough for a first number. If the job needs a walkthrough, we schedule one.
- 2
Write it down
The estimate says what gets prepped, what gets painted, how many coats, which finish, and roughly how long the crew will be in the house. No verbal add-ons later.
- 3
Show up when we said
You get a start date and a rough finish date. If weather moves an exterior job, you hear about it from us before the day, not on the day.
- 4
Leave it clean
Furniture back, outlet covers on, floors swept, touch-up paint labeled and left with you. Then we ask you to walk it with us in daylight.
Exterior · navy shake siding What we are notSome honest limits.
- We are house painters. Commercial work is a handful of select projects a year, usually small offices, retail turnovers and HOA common areas. We do not run a separate commercial division.
- Minnesota does not license painters, so we do not claim one. Ask us for references instead. We are glad to give them.
- Exterior painting has a real season here. If it is late October and your siding needs two coats, we will tell you to wait for May rather than take the job and hope.
- If your cabinet boxes are swelling particleboard, we will tell you to replace them, not paint them. It costs us the job and saves you the callback.
